Click a location on the map to travel. Start at the Chatsubo: talk to Ratz and ask about work, the delivery recipient, and Dockside. Contracts pay when completed. Sorting relay packets is repeatable if you need more money.
For the delivery, identify the market recipient and keep the seal intact for ¥ 70. You can examine the chip in your room: breaking the seal reduces delivery pay to ¥ 40; Software Analysis level 1 reads it safely. Vell at the relay offers ¥ 110 for the identified contents, adding trace and damaging Ratz’s trust.
For the repair, diagnose the Dockside public terminal. Echo from the market or Debug level 1 restores it. Read its PAX board and report to Ratz for ¥ 50. Software Analysis can identify Echo before you discover its purpose on the job.
Buy Worm and Probe at the market, then Intrusion level 1 at the clinic. At the public relay, connect to Dockside’s free directory. Read its records, run Worm at the login gate, and use your passphrase to enter the protected network.
Inside, choose which tools to run. Probe reveals signed files and hidden routes. Owner IDs and security sequences are puzzles to solve using the information you find. Intrusion level 2 offers another way to handle the watchdog; Ghost halves trace costs.
Trace advances only when you act. Each sensitive action shows its cost. At 100% the connection is severed and the current operation fails. Disconnect and clear your trace at the coffin hotel for free. Copied files and rewards are permanent.
Copy the freight ledger to earn your payment and reveal Orpheus. There is also optional evidence in Dockside. Follow your Journal through the remaining systems to finish the chapter.
Progress autosaves after every action, including inside networks. Save / Load offers three manual slots, backups, and a fresh start. Existing chapter-one saves are upgraded automatically.
